The 2010 WA Surf Life Saving Championships have just concluded at Secret Harbour beach with WA’s elite surf sports athletes producing some excellent results in hot and testing conditions.
Overall it was Trigg Island Surf Life Saving Club who took out the overall champion club on 800 points ahead of City of Perth SLSC (639 points) and Mullaloo SLSC (491 points).

Candice Falzon from City of Perth Surf Life Saving club was adjudged the competitor of the State Championships and awarded the Bernie Kelly Medal.
In the Ironman event Brendan Sarson from Trigg Island SLSC took the 2010 title and in the Ironwoman event it was Candice Falzon from City of Perth SLSC who beat off some tough competition to take the gold.
The traditional ‘blue ribbon’ event, the Taplin Relay (two swimmers, two board paddlers and two ski paddlers) was won by Trigg Island SLSC. In the very popular beach flags event, North Cottesloe SLSC’s Tom Nolan was the fastest across 20 metres on sand in the men’s competition. While in the open female event it was Hollie Daniels (Trigg Island SLSC) who won the State title.

In the open beach sprint (90 metres) we again see Tom Nolan (North Cottesloe SLSC) winning the mens event and Alysse Hogan (Trigg Island SLSC) claiming victory in the womens final.
